Until further notice, Dakota Disco is inactive.

They’re worth the wait — but man, what a wait.

Dark Nation, playing the very heaviest of heavy metal, has been performing in Rapid City since 1997, but fans still haven’t gotten their fill; this local group plays less frequently than any other I know. They always keep us wanting more… what a tease. But not necessarily a bad thing; it’s better than being sick of them. And I’m sure it helps their CD sales. Why would someone buy the milk when they can see the cow perform any old weekend?

A previous version of this flyer had the Reddmen appearing instead of Dark Nation, but the pop-punk trio has been rescheduled for the following Sunday, October 11 — a CD release show. More on that later.

This will be the first-ever show at Goat’s new venue, Budd Ugly’s above Sports Rock on Seventh Street, downtown Rapid City. If there’s one band that can really test-drive a new venue, it’s Dark Nation. This time around Dark Nation has a new drummer but the same attitude: it still costs $6.66 to buy their latest album in mp3 format.

As I noted last time these guys performed (in February), people who like Slayer like Dark Nation:

Also performing is local math-metal monster Woman Is the Earth. And let’s not forget the headliners — Resistant Culture and Systems Victims.

Admission is $6 all ages. Bring earplugs.
